Victor Steffensen
Author and Indigenous fire practitioner

Victor Steffensen is an Indigenous writer, filmmaker, musician and consultant who applies traditional knowledge values in modern contexts, through workshops and artistic projects. He is a descendant of the Tagalaka people from the Gulf Country of Northern Queensland. In particular, much of Victor’s work focuses on traditional burning through mentoring, leadership and on-ground training with Aboriginal communities and non-Indigenous Australians alike. He is a co-founder of the National Indigenous Fire Workshops, which are hosted in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Joshua Gilbert
Indigenous consultant, agriculturalist and innovator

Joshua Gilbert is a Worimi man who seeks to connect traditional Aboriginal knowledge and history to current contexts, translating past wisdoms and learning to the opportunities of the future. Having spanned the climate change and agricultural discussion to lead one of the first, pre-emptive, international climate change motions, Josh is a recognised climate and environmental advocate.  Much of Josh’s work as an entrepreneur and business advisor predominantly involves the Aboriginal cultural, agricultural and environmental spheres. For his advocacy, Josh has been recognised as the Australian Geographic Young Conservationist of the Year, the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage’s Young Sustainability Champion and the Foundation for Young Australians’ Local Legend Award.
